CHARACTER INFO
Character: Jester Lavorre
Canon: Critical Role, around episode 102 of the Mighty Nein
Age: Early 20s (Presumably 21 or 22ish)
Background Information: Wiki link here!
Personality:
Jester Lavorre is a cleric of the Trickery Domain and a core member of the adventuring group known as the Mighty Nein. Born by the name "Genevieve" in the city of Nicodranas, she spent most of her sheltered childhood within the walls of the Lavish Chateau as the daughter of the famous singer and courtesan, Marion. She is a chaotic neutral individual who values happiness and mischief, having chosen her own name specifically because she wants to be happy and make others feel the same. Her personality is defined by an excitable and eager nature; she is frequently described as a creature of some repute and pure of virtue, though she delights in small acts of trickery and can be easily plied with offerings of pastries or sweets.
When meeting Jester for the first time, people are often struck by her disarming charm and her voice, which makes her sound much younger than her actual age. An encounter with her usually involves immediate curiosity and friendliness, such as when she first approached Caleb Widogast and Nott the Brave simply because they were looking at her gold, or when she excitedly asked the performer Mollymauk Tealeaf to read her fortune within moments of meeting him. She frequently attempts to impress others or demonstrate her magical talent by using the Thaumaturgy cantrip to theatrically open and then close all the windows in a room. This exuberant charm can be polarizing; for instance, the Martinet found her brand of charm to be "entirely off-putting" yet "disarmingly charming," admitting he genuinely did not know how to react to her. Furthermore, a first impression often involves her religious devotion, as she frequently asks strangers if they have heard of her deity, the Traveler, often handing out handmade pamphlets or clay figurines.
Her relationship with the Traveler is the central pillar of her identity, evolving from a childhood coping mechanism into a complex partnership with a powerful archfey. Jester first met the Traveler when she was approximately thirteen years old, during a period of intense loneliness while she was forbidden from leaving the Lavish Chateau. Desperate for a friend after a negative encounter with a peer, she found a boy her age in her room who introduced himself as the Traveler, and she immediately agreed to be his friend. For years, he was her only companion, and Jester credits him with encouraging her to finally explore the world outside and use her creativity to play pranks on others. This bond was so pervasive that Jester habitually used plural pronouns, such as "we" and "us," to signify that the Traveler was always present with her.
Jester’s devotion can be characterized by an unconditional, childlike faith that the Traveler was a true deity. She considered him her "best friend" and "Number One Love," and she frequently offered to leave her adventuring companions if he disapproved of them. The Traveler, in turn, frequently reassured her that while he had other followers, she was his first and would always be his favorite. He personally intervened to protect her at critical moments, such as when he psychically guided her shield.
A major turning point in their relationship occurred when the Traveler revealed his true identity as Artagan, an archfey from the Feywild, rather than a god. He admitted that he had only assumed the "Traveler" persona because Jester's intense faith had uniquely empowered him and that he actually had no idea how to be a god, who Jester is currently still struggling to come to this revelation.
Jester's primary driving forces are her intense devotion to the Traveler and her desire for family connection. Much of her early journey was motivated by a quest to find her biological father, whom she eventually discovered was the criminal leader known as the Gentleman. Her ultimate "fairy-tale" goal was to reunite her parents so they could retire together somewhere safe, a dream she pursued alongside her efforts to bring as many followers as possible to the grand gathering known as Traveler Con. This motivation is deeply tied to her visible unhappiness and distress whenever she is left alone.
Despite her sweet demeanor, Jester possesses notable character flaws, including a sheltered worldview and a reckless impulsivity. Her background of wealth left her disconnected from the struggles of others, leading to moments of naivety such as when she inadvertently offended Caleb by dismissing an offer of fifty gold as insignificant. Her love for pranks also had unintended, lasting consequences; for example, her vandalism of the Platinum House in Zadash resulted in the termination of a security officer named Braius Doomseed, who harbored a lethal grudge against her for years. She speaks her mind, usually with little to no filter, and that can at times get her in trouble. Yet, despite these flaws, she is constantly working towards herself into growing to be a better person.
Jester’s journey with the Mighty Nein reflects a profound evolution from a sheltered girl seeking external validation to a self-assured woman who defines her own worth. While she initially relied on the Traveler as her sole source of companionship and identity, she eventually learned to forge deep, reciprocal bonds with her friends and family. This growth allowed her to move past her early naivety and the paralyzing fear of being alone, ultimately transforming her from a protected daughter into a powerful protector and a cornerstone of her adventuring family. Jester remains a constant force of chaos and kindness, proving that one can face the darkest parts of the world without ever losing their sense of wonder or their love for a good prank.
Abilities & Inventory: List of abilities are here!
Jester is a Cleric, meaning she has an array of abilities that increase depending on her level. Currently she is level 12 and is able to access 5 cantrips and 15 spells a day at varies power levels. She can, technically, go up to a level 6 spell but due to the powers that be here will not be able to access a spell stronger than level 3 for her own limitations.
She will, however, still have access to all the wonderful things she was born with as a tiefling such as dark vision, cold resistance, and a few cantrips due to her infernal legacy.
She's got a lot of items, too!
(I am going to exclude anything magically related on this list, and any magical items.)
Aside from her normal attire, her paints and drawing materials, Jester also has an animal companion by the name of Sprinkles! who will remain just as a regular, cranky and half feral weasel for his deration here.

ARMADA SELECTION
Jester would be best suited for Corsairs! Being notorious for tricks and pranks, she is not opposed to stealing or even killing should the situation call for it. While never outwardly malicious, Jester never takes the straight and narrow road, and instead prefers all the goodies in between. That's why this armada could be perfect for her!
